Rock formation

Three tables. One material logic. Surfaces that read like geology — eroded, accumulated, entirely alive. A studio work in development, Madrid 2024.

Rock Formation begins with a question about surface. Not what an object is for, or what it looks like from across a room — but what it feels like to run your hand across it. What it looks like when light hits it obliquely at four in the afternoon. Whether a table can feel as though it has always been there. The three pieces share one material logic and one formal language — the cylindrical column widening into a flat circular plane — but each exists at a different scale and height. Together they form a landscape. Separately, each is complete. The surface is the whole point. Rough where it catches light, smooth where it doesn't. A texture that reads as geological rather than manufactured — as though the piece arrived through accumulation rather than fabrication. The warmth of the white is not paint. It is the material itself. A studio work in development. Madrid, 2024.
